e mau ka ho'okele

Hau'oli Piha Makahiki!

In a momentous year we celebrate two waʻa of our ʻOhana Waʻa—Hōkūleʻa who turns 50 this year and Makaliʻi who turns 30 years—a testament to the strength, resilience, and value of our voyaging traditions. These waʻa have carried the legacy of our ancestors across vast oceans, inspiring generations to navigate with courage, mālama honua, and honor the wisdom of our Oceanic lifeways. Check out our ʻOhana Happenings blogs to see how we celebrated!

ʻImiloa Astronomy Center in Hilo
Join us for the 4th annual ʻIkuwā Festival 2025 at the ʻImiloa Astronomy Center! This one-day celebration pays tribute to the essential elements of land, sea, and sky that sustain us.
This event is a collaborative effort spearheaded the ʻImiloa Astronomy Center, alongside the support of ʻOhana Waʻa, Ama ʻOlukai Foundation, and Kaiāulu. We are grateful for this partnership and look forward to our continued work together.
